Patti Bienvenu-Brown ran a spa called Backstage — a place where the real care happened quietly, out of view of any audience. Skilled hands did the work that prepared people for what came next, without performance and without spectacle.
Devon Perry carried the name forward, and the philosophy with it. She opened Veritas Backstage in Austin in 2010, after years spent formulating skincare and asking the question the beauty industry rarely asks first: what is actually in this, and what is it doing to the people who trust it. A moment in the NICU made that question permanent. Watching the most vulnerable patients exposed to the same toxins found in ordinary personal care was not something to set aside.
In the years since, the practice has grown into two locations and a clinical team spanning aesthetic medicine, hormone health, regenerative wellness, and surgical care. What hasn’t changed is the standard. The work is still quiet. The care is still considered. The name still means what it meant outside her grandmother’s door.
