Aesthetic Treatment
Neurotoxins & Wrinkle Relaxers
Botox. Dysport. Xeomin. Three formulations, one clinical decision — made for your face.
Neurotoxins are the most performed aesthetic treatment in the world, and among the most misunderstood. The product is not the procedure. What matters is where it is placed, in what amount, and with what understanding of the anatomy beneath. At Veritas Backstage, that understanding has been built over more than two decades of clinical practice.
Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are all botulinum toxin type A — a purified neuromodulator that temporarily interrupts the nerve signals that cause targeted facial muscles to contract. The result is a softening of the expression lines that form when those muscles move. Used consistently and appropriately, neurotoxin also plays a meaningful role in prevention: slowing the deepening of expression lines before they become etched into the skin at rest.
The clinical difference between the three products is real but subtle. Botox is the most widely used and most extensively studied. Dysport may diffuse more broadly, making it well-suited for larger surface areas. Xeomin contains no accessory proteins, which may reduce the likelihood of resistance developing in patients treated over many years. Your provider will recommend the appropriate product based on your anatomy, your treatment history, and the areas being addressed.
THE EXPERIENCE
Neurotoxin appointments at Veritas Backstage typically take 20 to 30 minutes. A brief consultation precedes every treatment — including appointments for established patients — to assess current muscle activity, review any changes in health history, and confirm the treatment plan before injections begin.
The injections themselves are quick. Most patients describe a brief pinching sensation at each injection point. No numbing cream is required for most neurotoxin sites, though it is available for patients who prefer it. There is no meaningful downtime, and most patients return to normal activity immediately.
Onset varies by product and patient. Botox and Xeomin typically produce visible effect within three to five days, with full results at two weeks. Dysport may become visible slightly sooner in some patients. A follow-up assessment at two weeks is available for patients who want to evaluate their result and make any adjustments before their next scheduled appointment.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
Neurotoxin is appropriate for adults across a wide range of ages and skin types. The treatment is not exclusively for patients with visible lines at rest — it is increasingly used by patients in their mid-thirties as a preventative measure, to keep expression lines from deepening before they become structural.
For patients with established lines visible at rest, neurotoxin softens the dynamic component. The at-rest component may require additional treatment — such as filler or resurfacing — to address more fully. Your provider will be direct about what is realistic from neurotoxin alone and where combination therapy would produce a more complete result.
At Veritas Backstage, the clinical team has been performing injectable treatments since the practice opened in 2010. Every treatment plan begins with facial assessment, not a unit count.
Results and maintenance
Results typically last three to four months, depending on the patient’s metabolism, the muscles treated, the dose administered, and the product used. Consistent treatment over time often allows for longer intervals between appointments as muscle activity moderates.
Most patients settle into a maintenance schedule of three to four appointments per year. A structured approach to neurotoxin — as part of an aging pathway plan rather than as reactive spot treatment — consistently produces more natural, sustainable results.
